IBSA Powerlifting Sport Committee

IBSA is delighted to announce the newly selected members of the IBSA Powerlifting Sport Committee, which is dedicated to advancing the development and promotion of powerlifting for visually impaired athletes globally. The committee brings together a dynamic team of experienced professionals from across the globe to foster growth, implement best practices, and ensure inclusive opportunities for all.
The members of the IBSA Powerlifting Sport Committee are:
Tinatin Revazashvili (Georgia) – Chairman
Artur Tomitsskiy (Kazakhstan) – Lead for Asia
Faouzi Mekki (United Arab Emirates) – Lead for UAE and Saudi Arabia (in collaboration with Artur Tomitsskiy)
Mahmoud Elsherbeny (Egypt) – Lead for Africa
Jenny Ortiz Cárdenas (Colombia) – Lead for America
Zurab Tsikhishvili (Georgia) – Lead for Europe
Dillon Richardson (Canada) – Director of Education and Development
Each member brings a wealth of expertise and regional insight, ensuring a comprehensive approach to the development of the sport. The committee will work closely with IBSA leadership, national federations, and stakeholders to enhance participation, develop pathways for emerging athletes, and create competitive opportunities that align with IBSA’s mission of inclusion and accessibility.
Athlete Representation:
Recognizing the importance of athlete input in shaping the future of the sport, IBSA will soon announce athlete representatives who will join the committee. These representatives will play a vital role in ensuring the voices of powerlifters are heard and integrated into decision-making processes.
