Category:
France, Spain, Germany and Turkey have all qualified for the semi-finals at the European Championships following the conclusion of the group stage yesterday.
France and Spain made it through group 1 with 7 and 5 points respectively, leaving Greece and Russia to fight it out for 5th to 8th place.
In group 5 Germany was the surprise package, topping the group with 7 points, with Turkey only two points behind in second place. England had a poor event and had to settle for third place on 3 pints, while hosts Italy came fourth on one point.
Today is a rest day for players, referees and organisers alike, but tomorrow’s semi-finals promise some scintillating action, pitting France against Turkey and Spain against Germany.
