Super European League to kick off in Finland.

Date: March 30, 2012

Category: Goalball

Näpäjä Goalball Club from Finland will host the opening leg of the first Super European Goalball League (SEGL) in Lahti in November 2012.

The new event aims to bring together the best European men’s goalball players and teams to compete in a Champions League-type competition. The first ESGL will feature FIFH Mighty Ducks from Sweden, Näpäjä (Finland), Saltinis (Lithuania) and a leading Slovenian team.

Each team will organise one round of the competition, which runs from the end of this year until spring 2014, and can invite two more teams when hosting.

The long-term aim is to enlarge the competition and offer more of the best Goalball teams from other countries in Europe the chance to take part.

The opening round of the competition will be held at the Sport House of Lahti from November 30th until December 2nd.
