Switzerland also entered the world of showdown by hosting its first national Championships in Zurich.

Eight men and seven women took part in a round-robin tournament which was overseen by three national referees and an international official.

Following the success of the competition the country now plans to make the Championships an annual occurrence, as well as organise a national team cup. Organisers in Switzerland report that there are more than 20 active showdown players and this number is growing all the time.
