Poland and Estonia victorious at the Amber of Liepāja

Poland’s Krystian Kisiel and Estonia’s Tiia Innos Claim Victories at the 4th “Amber of Liepāja” Showdown Tournament.

The 4th “Amber of Liepāja” international showdown tournament came to a thrilling conclusion, crowning the champions in both the men’s and women’s categories and the team event. In a display of skill, determination, and sportsmanship, Krystian Kisiel from Poland and Tiia Innos from Estonia emerged victorious, etching their names in the tournament’s history.

In a fiercely contested men’s tournament, Krystian Kisiel proved why he was the previous year’s champion by claiming another remarkable victory. In an intense final match, Kisiel showcased his expertise and defeated Marco Carrai from Italy, securing the top position on the podium. Third place was secured by Deniss Ovsjaņņikovs from Latvia, who replicated his achievement from the Ovsjaņņikovs year, showcasing his consistent performance and prowess in the sport. Deniss Ovsjaņņikovs maintained his leading position at the top of the world ranking. He is followed by Krystian Kisiel and Pierre Bertrand from France.

The women’s category witnessed an extraordinary triumph for Tiia Innos from Estonia. The talented young player showed immense determination and skill throughout the tournament, culminating in her first major international title. In a hard-fought final, Innos outperformed Elvina Vidot from France, claiming the well-deserved victory. However, Innos’ most significant victory came in the semifinals, when she defeated the formidable Hanna Vilmi from Finland, who had remained unbeaten for more than four years. Vilmi secured the third position, a testament to her exceptional abilities and her remarkable undefeated streak. Vilmi maintains her huge gap in the first place of the world ranking. While Monika Szwalek (POL) is second and Elvina Vidot is third.

In the team competition, Poland emerged victorious, adding another accolade to their successful campaign in the “Amber of Liepāja” tournament. In a gripping final match, Team France displayed incredible resilience, coming back from trailing 1-16 to level the score at 29-29. However, Poland demonstrated their composure and ultimately clinched the victory with a scoreline of 31-29. Third place was secured by Team Estonia, which showcased their collective talent and teamwork throughout the event.

As the cheers subsided and the medals were awarded, the 4th “Amber of Liepāja” showdown tournament left an indelible mark on the participants and spectators alike. The event’s success highlights the growing popularity and significance of Showdown in promoting inclusivity and breaking barriers in the world of sports.
