Partially Sighted Futsal: Ukraine is the indisputable leader in the ranking

Date: January 17, 2024

Category: Partially sighted football

The IBSA Football Sport Committee released the Partially Sighted Futsal World Ranking List this Wednesday. The current three-time world champion, Ukraine, kept the lead on the list.

England, which has won the same three-time silver medal in the world championships (Antalya 2019, Cagliari 2017, and Seoul 2015), also keeps second place in the ranking for 2024.

Spain starred the best rise in the world ranking list, from the sixth position in 2023 to third in 2024. The same place that finished at the last edition of the world championship, integrated into the 2023 IBSA World Games.

Actually, the 2024 Partially Sighted Futsal World Ranking has the same order as the standings of the last world championship in Birmingham. The last position in the ranking is for Russia, which is currently suspended from all team sports competitions.

“Partially Sighted Futsal is back on track. We have open calls for bids in order to organise regional and world championships on an annual basis”, said Elias Mastoras, the IBSA Football Sport Committee chairperson.
