Date: February 16, 2023
Category: Ninepin Bowling
The city of Targu Mures will host the 22nd edition of the IBSA Nine-Pin Bowling European Championships. After 1999, 2004, and 2018, the Romanian town will be the European capital of the sport, which will receive 95 athletes, and more than 20 supporting staff like coaches and assistants.
“We expect to have a record number of countries participating in this event. We are very happy to have normal competition without COVID restrictions, and the organisers are very experienced in this kind of tournament, so the success is almost guaranteed,”, said Ruza Markesic, IBSA Nine-Pin Bowling Sports Committee Chairperson.
Ninepin bowling has been an IBSA sport since 1997. There are team and individual disciplines by category, and players compete in three categories, according to classification (B1, B2, and B3). Athletes throw a 120 ball in a full position of frame in the game.
