IBSA Showdown World Championships details released

The IBSA Showdown Committee has released more details about its upcoming World Championships in Italy.

The 2019 IBSA Showdown World Championships will take place in Olbia on the island of Sardinia between September 30th and October 6th. Hosted by FISPIC, the Italian Paralympic Federation for the Visually Impaired, the championships will be held at the Geovillage Sport Wellness & Convention Resort.

The committee has now released a full list of all athletes signed up to compete for the title of IBSA World Showdown Champion, and the names including some of the top-ranked players in the world.

Forty-four men representing 16 countries and 29 women from 14 nations are set to gather in Italy for the championships, while 11 countries will also compete in the team event.

Following training and sight classification on October 1st and 2nd, the championships will be opened formally on the 2nd in the afternoon/evening, with matches taking place on October 3rd, 4th and 5th.
