Date: August 10, 2018

Category: Showdown

IBSA Showdown has launched a call for bids to host its 2019 World Championships, the most important competition on the sport’s calendar.

The deadline for bids is 30 September and countries in good standing with IBSA can apply.

Bids must include a letter of support from the relevant member organisation, transport information for teams between the venue and airports, information about the facilities for where the competition will be held and a budget plan.

Interested Federations should submit a bid using the ‘IBSA competition sanction form – application for approval’ available in the document section on IBSA website.

The 2019 IBSA Showdown World Championships will be the sixth edition of the event. The competition, held every two years and featuring individual and team medal events for men and women, was last held in Handen, Sweden, in 2017.

More information is available by emailing [email protected].

The next major competition on the sport’s calendar is the 2018 IBSA Showdown European Championships in Warsaw, Poland. Nearly 60 athletes from 16 countries are expected to compete.
