Firstly, we at IBSA Goalball would like to thank everyone for your patience. We understand that many of you are very anxious and keen to know where and when the European Championships A Men and Women as well as the C Championships will be held.
 
The reason for the delay is because we have been working with nations on compiling their bids. It is vital that the championships go ahead due to them being a qualification tournament for the IBSA Goalball World Championships.
 
IBSA Goalball would like to stress that it is very important that all regions are able to organize a regional championships. Without a regional championship that region may lose qualification spots as well as the ability to attain places through the ratio system.
 
European A Championships
Turkey has placed a bid to host the A championships for men and women. The proposed dates for these championships are 1-11 November 2013. IBSA Goalball will now review the bid and conduct a site visit. A decision should be reached in late March.
 
European C Championships
We can also announce that the UK has placed a bid to host the C championships for men. The proposed dates for these championships are 4th -9th September 2013. IBSA Goalball is negotiating with the organisation committee on ways to keep the costs down for the participating teams. IBSA Goalball is also conducting a site visit and like the A championships, a decision should be reached in March.
