IBSA Goalball European Championships 2011, Assens, Denmark

The 2011 IBSA European Goalball Championships have kicked off in Assens (Denmark), with ten men’s teams and ten women’s teams battling for the title of IBSA European Champions and a place at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.
The event was officially opened on Tuesday by IBSA Europe Chairperson Jannie Hammershoi, herself from Denmark. Truels Schultz, Chairman of the city’s Culture Committee, represented Assens City Council at the opening, and IBSA Secretary General Abdullah Cetin also addressed the public.
