“Highball” is the official program of the IBSA Goalball Sub-Committee
Date: August 8, 2016
Some time ago in Sydney, Australia, a group of friends came up with the idea to start an Internet Radio Service for people with vision impairment. They met up with some technical gurus and from that, ‘Disability Sports Network’ (DSN) was created.
DSN have a number of programs. The themes are common, sport and information that was relevant for people with a vision impairment. One of those programs is “Highball”. Highball is a program all about Goalball where regular hosts ‘Buddha’ and ‘Hairy’ report about all things from the world of Goalball. The program has an Australian flavour but they make sure to report on items from all over the world.
Regular segments ‘IBSA Goalball News’, ‘Upcoming Tournaments’, Tournament Round Up’ and ‘Around Australia in Tem Minutes’ give our listeners all they need to know about what happened in Goalball from the week just past as well as letting them know what will be happening within the next week.
The boys at ‘Highball’ love to hear from our many friends of the program (FOPs) and we would like to hear more from others. We are happy to report on any tournament, whether it is international, national or local. We would even love to hear people’s opinions (as long as they aren’t too political). Simply write to [email protected] and we will be sure to air your opinions and news to our loyal listeners.
You can listen to ‘Highball’ on Tuesday mornings (10.30am GMT) on http://disabilitysportsnetwork.com/ but if you are not able to listen live, pick up a podcast 24 hours after the show goes to air. You can also download the Disability Sports Network app from your IOS or Android device and listen to them whenever you want.
Make sure you join Buddha, Hairy and special guest presenters ‘Die Hard’, ‘Big Maan’, ‘Zippo’ and ‘The Bachelor’ for all your weekly Goalball news.
