The newly appointed IBSA Football Sport Committee held its first meeting on December 27th, 2024. Fabio Vasconcelos, IBSA Football Chairperson, and the seven members of the Committee met online for several hours.

The main topic of the meeting was the evaluation of the Blind Football Laws of the Game. The whole Rulebook was analyzed. Suggestions and ideas from different people involved in the sport were considered.

After analyzing all the comments, the IBSA Football Sport Committee voted one by one for each of the suggested changes.
“Our Sport Committee has representation from all the regions, with people who has shown their passion for the sport and their experience. We are sure that every modification to the Laws of the Gama will help in the development of this beautiful and amazing sport”, Fabio says.

The new Laws will be published in January 2025, after the final approval of IBSA Executive Board.

During January and February 2025, Fabio will have several meetings with the IBSA Football Development Group in order to organize all the activities related to marketing and sponsorship, development of men´s and women´s category, training and development of Blind Football goalkeepers, and organization of IBSA Football Medical Department.

“Our aims is to work for the development of the sport in all the world, specially in regions that still need support, like Africa, Central America and part of Asia. Women´s Blind Football is one of our prioirities too, and we continue working hard to include the category in Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games”; said Fabio.
