As of November 15, 2024, Michael Dennis has been appointed the new Chair of the IBSA Goalball Sports Committee. Together with the IBSA Administration, a new structure for the Sports Committee has been developed.

Individuals interested in contributing to the IBSA Goalball Sports Committee are invited to apply by December 6, 2024. Applications must include the position the candidate is applying for, a short CV, a description of previous involvement in Goalball, and the personal goals they aim to pursue. Applications have to be send via e-mail to [email protected]

After the deadline, all candidates will be published, and elections will be held for several positions.

The IBSA Goalball Sports Committee will be structured as follows:

• Ranking, Rules & Regulations Coordinator
• Referee Coordinator
• Secretary
• Male Athlete Representative: Alexandre Almeida (POR), elected until 2026
• Female Athlete Representative
• Male Coaches Representative
• Female Coaches Representative
• Medical Officer
• Media Officer
• Regional Representatives (Africa, Americas, Asia/Pacific & Europe)

The Female Athlete Representative will be elected by the athletes, while the Coaches Representatives will be chosen by Goalball coaches. Further details on these elections will be announced.
