Seven of the eight qualified teams for Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will line-up for the 2024 IBSA Men´s Blind Football World Grand Prix in Schiltigheim, France, from 26 May.
The Official Draw will take place on Tuesday, 2 April at 11.30 CET.
You can watch the draw live at the IBSA Blind Football website.
Current Paralympic champions Brazil, world and Americas champions Argentina, Asian title-holders China, European champions France, Japan, Thailand, Colombia and Türkiye make-up a field deep with quality.
At the last World Grand Prix in Brazil in 2023, the hosts topped the table with a 2-0 win over Japan. Argentina beat France to finish third.
South American rivals Brazil and Argentina have swapped the title since the World Grand Prix began in 2018. The latter won the first three editions whilst Brazil are going for their own hattrick following wins in 2022 and 2023.
“It is fitting that the strongest ever edition of the IBSA Blind Football World Grand Prix will take place in the same country that will stage the Paralympic Games in just a few months time,” Elias Mastoras, IBSA Blind Football Chairperson said. “It will act as a kind of ‘test event’ for fans to get a taste of what they can expect to experience in front of the Eiffel Tower from 1-5 September.”
The 2024 IBSA Blind Football World Grand Prix begins with group stages on 26 May ahead of the final and third place play-off on 1 June.
All matches will be shown live on the IBSA Blind Football website.
