There were trophies for Austria and Belgium at the 23rd European Torball Cup, held in Antwerp, Belgium, this weekend, as eight men’s teams from six countries and seven women’s teams representing the same six countries gathered to compete.
 
Austrian women’s torball team VBSC Vorarlberg successfully defended the title of European Cup holders they won last year in Germany, defeating French team ASCND Marseille in a close-fought match by six goals to five.
 
In the men’s event, local outfit Vige Waasland overcame reigning champions BSS Tirol in a low-scoring but tense final (3-2).
 
The 23rd IBSA European Torball Cup was hosted by the Belgian Paralympic Committee. Full results will be posted on this web site later this week.
