Ukraine’s Sergej Wassin wins chess gold in Romania

Sergej Wassin from Ukraine is the newly-crowned IBSA Chess World Champion following his victory at the IBSA Chess Individual World Championships in Calimanesti, Romania.
Sergej won gold on 2320 points at the end of the nine-round competition, just 18 points ahead of fellow Ukranian Sergey Grigorchuk on 2302. Spain's Albert Olivera took bronze on 2260 points.

The competition, held between October 3rd and 12th, featured 31 players from seven countries. The second edition of the individual world championships will be held in 2018.
