Russia has won the 2013 IBSA B2-B3 Football World Championships, held in Miyagi, Japan.

A single goal from player of the tournament Turkov Evgenii was enough to give Russia victory over neighbours and close rivals Ukraine – and the title of IBSA World Champions in the B2-B3 category – in the final played on Monday.

The goal came in the fourth minute of the second period of extra time following a tense goalless match.

England took third place and the bronze medals, outclassing hosts Japan and winning comfortably.

The World Championship were hosted by the Japan Blind Football Association (JBFA).
