Planning for the IBSA Blind Football European Youth Camp 2015 in Hamburg at the end of next month is progressing smoothly and a number of European countries have already confirmed their attandance.

The youth camp is aimed at players aged 16-23 and will be held in Hamburg, Germany, in partnership with FC St Pauli Blindenfussball. The dates are Thursday July 30th to Sunday August 2nd.

IBSA member associations in Europe are reminded that the deadline to submit the expressions of interest is today – Tuesday June 30th. Places are limited, so we encourage any country interested in taking part to submit their form today to secure places.

The IBSA Blind Football European Youth Camp 2015 is the centrepiece this year of the European development project which IBSA is running with ongoing financial backing from UEFA. Thanks to UEFA support IBSA will cover the cost of local transport, meals and accommodation for all participants. Participants only need to cover travel costs to Hamburg airport or railway station.

The goal of the camp is to bring together young blind footballers – male or female – between the ages of 16 and 23 years old for two full days of training alongside their peers from other European countries. Players will also have the chance to socialise with other football-minded blind and partially sighted young people and take part in the planned cultural activities.

The camp is aimed at beginners and intermediate-level players and is not intended for national team or elite players.

Additionally, blind football coaches will have the opportunity to meet and exchange experiences, techniques and tips. The training sessions will be supervised by Ulrich Pfisterer, Chair of the IBSA Football Committee and German national trainer, and coaches will be encouraged to participate also.

IBSA recommends players (up to two per country) travel with one coach. Countries are responsible for securing parental consent if the players are underage according to your national legislation.

Places on the IBSA Blind Football European Youth Camp 2015 are limited.

European IBSA member countries interested in taking part are requested to fill in the expression of interest form above and email it to [email protected].

IBSA Blind Football would like to thank Handi Life Sport, who will supply blind footballs free of charge for the camp.
