The International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Goalball Committee is inviting referees to express their interest in officiating at the 2021 Americas Championships in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
All level 2 and 3 referees are encouraged to register for the competition being held between 15-22 October. It will be the first of three regional Championships currently scheduled for 2021 and takes place just over one month after the Paralympics conclude in Tokyo 2020.
Brazil are hoping to compete at home as new Paralympic medallists having won bronze in the men’s four years ago. The women are also eyeing a podium finish to follow on from their first World Championships bronze medal in 2018.
Both the men’s and women’s teams are the reigning Americas champions.
Referees interested in taking part at Sao Paulo 2021 can email [email protected], copying in Referee Coordinator [email protected], by 10 July 2021.
As well as the Americas Championships, the IBSA Goalball Asia-Pacific Championships will take place from 1-11 November in Asan, South Korea, and the IBSA Goalball African Championships will be staged in Cape Coast, Ghana from 6-12 December.
