Poland has been selected to host a major European development tournament in blind football in May 2018. Krakow will be the venue for the 3rd IBSA Blind Football Euro Challenge Cup, a six-team event featuring new national teams on the blind football scene in Europe.

The tournament will take place within the framework of the UEFA-supported IBSA Blind Football Development Project Europe and is the showcase event for this project year. The dates for the tournament are May 10th to 12th.

IBSA is partnering with local club Tyniecka NWP Kraków to deliver the tournament.

Countries which have recently received support from the project will be invited to take part, with IBSA covering their accommodation, meals and local transport while in Krakow.

A referee training course open to officials from all over Europe will be held in the city immediately prior to the tournament.

Monday May 7th – arrival referees for training course
Tuesday May 8th – referee training course
Wednesday May 9th – referee training course, arrival teams
Thursday May 10th – match day 1
Friday May 11th – match day 2
Saturday May 12th – match day 3, including final
Sunday May 13th – departure all participants

The Krakow event will be the third Euro Challenge Cup in blind football, following the successful first event in Prague, Czech Republic, in 2014, won by Belgium and in which Poland came third, and the second tournament in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2016, in which Romania was victorious.
