New dates for goalball Euros B, Euros A planned for November

The International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Goalball has announced the new dates for the 2021 European Championships B in Lahti, Finland.

The competition, which was postponed from January 2021, will now take place from 31 May – 7 June.

Pajulahti 2021 will feature teams from across Europe playing for promotion to the A pool. Ten men’s and eight women’s teams are expected to compete in Lahti, including hosts Finland in the women’s.

All games will take place at the state-of-the-art Pajulahti Olympic & Paralympic Training Centre.

Other major Championships announced for 2021 remain unchanged, including the IBSA Goalball Americas Championships from 13-20 June in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and the more recently announced Asia-Pacific Championships in Asan, South Korea, in November.

The group C Euros will take place in Targu-Mures, Romania, from 14-21 November.

The IBSA Goalball Committee have also revealed that the hotly anticipated European Championships A will take place in November 2021. More details will be published early next year.

The Euros A will see teams qualify for the 2022 World Championships in Hangzhou, China.
