The International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Goalball Committee have confirmed the dates for the next edition of the Asia-Pacific Championships.

The original host city of Asan, South Korea, remains the same.

The competition will be a qualifier for the 2022 IBSA Goalball World Championships in Hangzhou, China. Tokyo 2020 bronze medallists and defending champions Japan are expected in the women’s competition, whilst hosts China will go for their fourth consecutive title in the men’s.

Asan 2022 comes in the wake of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games which have spurred the growth of goalball in Asia. The first Asian Championships were held in 2010, and the next edition will be the third consecutive year the tournament is hosted in a new country.
