Montreal gearing up for goalball this weekend

the 23rd to 25th of January will take place the 15th edition of the Montreal Open Goalball Tournament. This year, 16 teams of which 6 are women, will compete.
“The ASAQ, in 2014, celebrated its 35th anniversary and we are proud to hold our 15th edition of this international tournament, which year after year is proving to be a success!” Said Nathalie Chartrand, Executive director of the Quebec Blind Sports Association.
For the first time the men’s side will be equally represented with teams from both the USA and Canada (5 teams from each nation). The participating men’s teams are as follows: Georgia, New York, Michigan, California, Delaware, Nova Scotia, British-Colombia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec. On the women’s side, competing teams are Georgia, British-Colombia, Nova Scotia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec.
All 43 games will take place at the Gadbois recreation Complex located at 5485, chemin Côte St-Paul, Montreal, H4C 1X3. Males and females finals will be played Sunday, January 25 from noon to 2 pm local time.
