Match day three drama at IBSA Blind Football Asian Championships

Date: December 14, 2017

Category: Football

Blind football fans were treated to high drama on match day three at the IBSA Blind Football Asian Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

With reigning champions Iran and China already qualified, today's first game saw Japan take on Thailand in group A in a do-or-die match for second place in the group, a place in the semi-finals, and a slot at next year's world championships in Madrid, Spain.

In a very close-fought match, Thailand took a 2-0 lead, but Japan fought back to equalise 2-2 in the second half. Japan looked for a winner but Thailand held on to take second place on goal difference.

The group B encounter between South Korea and hosts Malaysia was another exciting affair. Malaysia took a 3-1 lead and looked set to take the tie, but the Koreans fought back to equalise and eventually scored a fourth to take the game 4-3 and grab second spot.
