For the first time ever at an IBSA event a Nage-no-kata demonstration took place at the recent IBSA Judo European Championhips in Portugal.

Blind judoka Carlos Dinis (2nd dan) presented the Nage-no-kata presentation with Fernando Seabra (4th dan) as uke. Dinis was the first blind judoka in Portugal to acheive a black belt.

Nage-no-kata is one of the two Randori-no-kata (乱取りの形?, Free practice forms) of Kodokan judo. It is intended as an illustration of the various concepts of nage-waza (投げ技, throwing techniques) that exist in judo, and is used both as a training method and as a demonstration of understanding.
