Japan to host Asian Blind Football Championships

Date: April 30, 2015

Category: Football

IBSA has confirmed that Japan's bid to host the 2015 IBSA Asian Blind Football Championships has won the race to host the event.

Facing strong competition from rival bids, Japan came out on top due to a number of factors, including the fact that it hosted last year's IBSA Blind Football World Championships very successfully.

The championships will be held in Tokyo from August 30th 2015 until September 8th 2015 and will be run by the Japan Blind Football Association, a part of the Japanese Paralympic Committee.

The top two teams will qualify automatically for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

All enquiries regarding the event should be sent to l[email protected].

The 2015 IBSA Asian Blind Football Championships will be the 6th such event, and previous championships have taken place in Vietnam, Japan, China and Korea.

The organising committee is putting together a package to enable as many Asian countries as possible to participate.
