Women players from all over the world are gathering in Tokyo to take part in a training camp and international friendly match against the Japanese national women's team over the coming days.
 
Eleven blind women from eight countries – Argentina, Australia, Austria, UK, Germany, Nigeria, Sweden and Zimbabwe – are travelling to Tokyo to take part in the two-day training camp with the Japanese team on Thursday and Friday, followed by the Saitama City Normalization Cup 2019 on Saturday.

 

The training camp is supported by the Tanaka Kikinzoku Group and is hosted by the Japan Blind Football Association in partnership with IBSA. It will be conducted by an experienced blind football coach.
 
This second international camp for women follows on from the very successful initial camp in Vienna, Austria, in May 2017, where 75 players and staff from 16 countries, including the Japanese national team, participated.
 

The Saitama City Normalization Cup 2019 will kick off at 14:00 local time and will feature the full Japanese team against the women’s world select.
 
The event is sponsored by Saimata City with support from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, Sports Agency, Japan Foundation Sports Association, Japan Paralympic Committee, General Association Japan Disabled Football Federation, Saitama Prefecture and General Association Saitama Prefecture Disabled Sports Association.
