Italy set to host IBSA Partially Sighted Football World Championships

Italy is gearing up to host the 7th IBSA World Championships in football for partially sighted players (B2/B3 category).

Cagliara, the capital of Sardinia, will host the next edition of the IBSA Partially Sighted Football World Championships from May 26th to June 4th. The event will be hosted on the island of Sardinia by Tigers Paralympic Sport, a member of FISPIC, and will run from May 26th until June 4th. 

The tournament in Cagliari will be the 7th world championships for partially sighted players, with the event returning to Europe for the first time since it was held in Manchester in 2004. Recent WC have been held in Argentina (Buenos Aires, 2008), Japan (Sendai, 2013) and South Korea (Seoul, 2015). 

Ukraine will be aiming to retain the title of IBSA World Championships it won in Seoul in 2015 at the IBSA World Championships and Games, defeating Spain 3-1 in the final.
