IPC – IBSA Blind Football Southeast Asia Introductory Course
Date: October 30, 2024
Category: Blind football
Thanks to the support provided by IPC, IBSA and IBSA Football organized an important Blind Football Seminar for the Southeast Asia region. Laos NPC was IBSA´s local partner in the organization of this event.
All the activities were supervised by IBSA Facilitators, and carried out at the Venue “Bay Savanh Football Club”, in Vientiane (Laos).
There were 29 participants (15 VI players and 14 coaches/referees) from 6 NPCs: Cambodia, Myanmar, Philippines, Timor-Leste, Vietnam, and Laos. Every day of Seminar (October 5th, 6th and 7th), from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, theoretical (indoor) and practical (outdoor pitch) activities were combined. The practical lessons took place in a new Blind Football pitch that Laos NPC just built.
Participants were introduced to the world of Blind Football, and they learnt how to play and how to teach to VI players through different activities. Basic control of ball, basic movements, basic tactics, language, and training activities were introduced to the participants. There were also sessions to learn about Rules and Referee work, with practice in the pitch with real VI players. Blind Football matches were played during the last day.
85 Blind Football balls and 60 eye masks were distributed between the participants in order to continue the development of the sport in their countries.
IBSA Football wants to thank IPC for its support, and hopes to continue with these activities all over the world.
