International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Date: December 2, 2024
Category: General
Dear IBSA Members and Supporters,
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities offers us once again the opportunity to highlight the immense power of sport to foster inclusion and empower individuals with visual impairments. At IBSA, we remain committed to breaking barriers and creating opportunities for athletes at all levels—from grassroots participation to elite competition.
Regional development, a cornerstone of IBSA’s priorities, is essential to this mission. By engaging more athletes and communities worldwide, we ensure that our movement reflects the diversity and strength of its participants. As we approach a pivotal year in IBSA’s history—marked by the completion of the review project, the adoption of significant reforms, and the renewal of our organization—we invite everyone to take an active role in shaping the federation’s future.
Together, let us continue to use sport as a platform for transformation and inclusion, empowering every individual with a visual impairment to thrive and inspire.
With commitment,
Ilgar Rahimov
President, International Blind Sports Federation
