Category: General

The president of the International Judo Federation (IJF), Marius Vizer, congratulated Ilgar Rahimov for his election as the new IBSA president.

In the official letter, Mr. Vizer said: “I wish you a very successful mandate filled with achievements and rewarding projects in your endeavours to further the development of IBSA and the promotion of the sporting values in the world.”

The IJF president also said he looks “forward to continuing a fruitful collaboration” between the two organisations.

The IBSA president replied: “It was with great pleasure that I received your congratulatory letter on my election as president of the International Blind Sports Federation. I really appreciate your prompt response and your wish to continue the close collaboration of IBSA and IJF which we have sustained for a number of years”.

The two leaders may get together this August in Birmingham, where the 2023 IBSA World Games will take place, the greatest competition in the IBSA universe, where Judo is one of the sports in competition, specifically between August 23 and 25, as part of the Road to Paris 2024.
