IBSA World Games goalball – movers and shakers
Date: May 13, 2015
Category: Goalball
Goalball action on day three of the 2015 IBSA World Games continued to hot up with some very hotly contested affairs.
The first example of this was the opening Pool A match of the day between Germany and the hosts. South Korea had already been part of a tight contest that resulted in a loss for them. They were not willing to repeat history. This time they were able to walk away with a share of the points after the scores were locked at 8-8 on the final buzzer. Another Pool A match that was apparently worth seeing despite the lopsided score was that between Sweden and Spain. Sweden took the match in what was reported as a fiery game.
Across in Pool B, the match of the day was that between Iran and Japan. Japan probably surprised most when they were able to end the match on a level score line 5-5.
Moving on to Pool X, on day three two teams seemed to shine; Finland and Israel. However, the closest match was that between Denmark and Spain. Both of these teams are fighting hard to keep their campaign on track. Unfortunately, in this case, one team did come out on top and that was Spain 6-5.
Great Britain and Germany was the match of the day in Pool Y. The two European nations had good wins on day two and would had been out to secure themselves as a top team in their pool. In the end neither of the teams could walk away with full points after they played a 4 all draw.
