IBSA is delighted to welcome three new countries to our family, raising the total number of member countries worldwide to 127.

The newcomers to the IBSA fold are from Africa and Europe:

Albania – the Albanian Blind Association is responsible for blind sports in the country.

Central African Republic – the Central African Republic Sports Association for the Blind and Partially Sighted is in charge of all sports for the blind and partially sighted.

Mozambique – Mozambique Sports Federation for Persons with Disabilities.

In addition to these new countries, membership in Kazakhstan has been transferred to the National Paralympic Committee of Kazakhstan following a successful application and an analysis by IBSA into the situation regarding blind sports in the country.

With 127 member nations in all continents of the world, IBSA is one of the largest international sports federations for persons with disabilities. Europe remains the continent with the highest number of members (42), followed by Asia (29), Africa (25), America (24) and Oceania (7).
