After the tragic events that took place in Turkiye with the earthquake that hit 10 provinces of the country, the Turkish Youth and Sports Ministry suspended all sports activity until further notice. For that reason, the IBSA Judo Grand Prix Antalya 2023, set for April 4th and 5th, is canceled.

IBSA – International Blind Sports Federation expresses its deepest condolences to the Turkish people and offers support in this difficult moment. These words were already said by IBSA President, Sandro di Girolamo.

“I’ve been in contact with the president of the Turkish Blind Sports Federation, Ayhan Yildirim, to express our unconditional support to the people in Turkiye. The time demands strength for the rescues and courage for the losses, with help coming from all over the world. Turkiye is not alone in these hard times. Our thoughts and prayers are also extended to the affected people in the Syrian region”, said Mr. Di Girolamo.
