IBSA Judo reports on Tokyo 2020 qualification process

Information about the status of qualification process for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics in Judo.
 
IPC organized an open day for all Paralympic sport at the end of June. During the gathering, IBSA Judo was informed about the steps and timeline proposal for the qualification process for Tokyo.
 

  • 10 February 2017: Deadline for IFs to propose new medal events and to request higher athlete quotas

(IBSA Judo has requested more slots supporting B1 athletes)
 

  • March – August 2017: Consultations with all IFs (IF Open Days in June 2017)

(BSA Judo took part at the meeting on 22nd of June)
 

  • 4 September 2017: IPC GB decides Tokyo 2020 medal events programme and athlete quotas by sport.

 

  • January 2018: IPC publishes Tokyo 2020 Qualification Guide

 
IBSA Judo will prepare a calendar with the number and name of events which provide points for Tokyo 2020 qualification.

The qualification process will start approximately 2 years before the Paralympic Games with the IBSA Judo World Championships.

The World Ranking List is updated continuously.
