Category: Judo
The IBSA Judo Committee is keen to put in place a full calendar of events for 2018, and has launched a call for countries to express interest in hosting events.
Here is the announcement from the committee:
The IBSA Judo Committee is arranging next year’s competition calendar. We are expecting the NPCs candidatures to send us the plans for arranging judo events in 2018.
Please note:
– Canada will host the Pan-American Championships.
– IBSA Judo wants to arrange 2-3 joint World Cups together with IJF, as in Tashkent in 2017. (the venue and dates are not known yet).
– The IBSA Judo World Championships will be held at the end of September or beginning of October. (venue and dates are not known yet).
– It is probable that qualification for the Tokyo Paralympic Games will start with the World Championships.
– We suggest organizers add a training camp to the event, ensuring more activity for our judokas.
Our request is for you to send your proposals for events by the end of September. The separate deadline for an official bid to host the World Championships is 1st November.
