IBSA harrassment policy consultation

Date: February 6, 2015

Category:

The International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) seeks the advice and assistance of member organisations, athletes, coaches, support staff and other stakeholders in the implementation of a harassment policy which will be used at all IBSA-sanctioned competitions, meetings and other events.

IBSA plans to utilize this type of policy to deal with any harassment claims that may arise during the IBSA World Games, to be held in Korea in May 2015, once feedback from all stakeholders has been appropriately incorporated.

Blind sports stakeholder wishing to participate in this consultation process are asked to provide feedback on this policy and share any concerns they have with its provisions on or before 11:59 P.M. on March 8, 2015.

When preparing responses, please be sure to identify the precise provision(s) that you are concerned about, why you are concerned and what changes you would like to see made to the specific provision(s). If you believe that the policy should contain any additional provision(s), please provide any proposed language for the new provision(s) that you would like to see incorporated into the document.

Responses should be sent to both the IBSA Secretary General, Henk van Aller, at [email protected], and Robert Fenton, Advisor to the President and Executive Board Member-at-Large, at [email protected].

Feedback will be collated and revisions to the policy communicated so that IBSA member organisations may inform teams and officials appropriately.

All questions regarding the policy or the consultation process should be addressed to Henk van Aller and Robert Fenton.

IBSA would like to thank member organisations, athletes, coaches, support staff and other stakeholders in advance for input into the adoption and implementation of this very important policy.
