Finland took the top spot in men’s Pool A after equalizing the match against Iran in the dying seconds to 5-5. Finland will meet
China in the quarterfinal on Friday.
 
Czech Republic was extremely close of winning the Pool A but they had to settle for a second place after Finland’s Erkki
Miinala’s late equalizer against Iran. The Czechs will meet the reigning World Champion Lithuania in the quarterfinal.
 
The other pairs are Brazil-Iran and Turkey-USA. Brazil and Turkey are the only teams in men’s competition without a defeat
yet.
 
Actually Turkey don’t have a defeat in their account in the whole competition because their women’s team also got through Pool stage without losing. They topped the Pool X and will meet Israel in the quarterfinal.
 
China-Russia might be the most interesting pair in women’s competition. China is the reigning World Champion and Russia
won the European Championships in 2013.
 
The other pairs are Japan-Ukraine and Brazil-USA. Brazil has been very impressive so far in the women’s competition although they did lose to China.
