IBSA Goalball World Rankings – November 2013 Update
Date: November 22, 2013
Category: Goalball
Above are the links to the full IBSA Goalball world rankings for 1 November 2013. Please note that these rankings were calculated prior to the 2013 IBSA Goalball European Championships Men & Women A and the Asia/Pacific Championships. These championships will be factored into the December update.
Men
This month there was a newcomer in the top 10. Algeria has moved up to number 8 from 11. The other notable change in the top 10 is Ukraine moving up 2 spots to 8.
Looking a bit further down, there is also a newcomer with in the top 20. Hungary has moved to 17 from 21.
The bullet this month has to go to Qatar who shot up to 14 from 43.
At the other end of the scale, the biggest drop went to Slovenia who went from 15 to 33. This may change however once the results from the 2013 IBSA Goalball European Championships have been factored in.
At number 49 there is also a debut. Kosovo has joined the rankings.
Women
The female rankings also had a couple of new additions. Belgium and France debuted at positions 20 and 21 respectively.
The top 10 teams remained the same but there was some movement within the top 10. Turkey moved up a spot to now be in the top 5. Finland also moved up considerably to 7.
Even though the top ten didn’t change, there are a few countries that moved up to just outside the top ten and are knocking on the door. Great Britain moved from 15 to 11 and Hungary from 17 to 13.
All these rankings will probably change a great deal once the results from Novembers regional championships have been factored in. We look forward to seeing if there is a new number 1.
