We at IBSA Goalball are aware that many of you are very keen to know where your regional championships will be held this year. Below is a brief update in regards to the European Championships as well as the Asia/Pacific Championships.

European Championships

The date to submit your bids to host the European championships Men and/or Women A or Men C has been extended until 31 January. The successful applicant will be informed no later than 15 February.

We would like to remind eligible nations that they are not required to host all of these championships and that they can be held separately. It is vital that we find a suitable host for these Championships as they are the qualifying championships for the IBSA Goalball World Championships to be held in Finland next year.

Many nations may find it advantageous to host Europeans as the top 2 men’s teams and top women’s team qualify for Worlds and playing in your home nation can often give your players a boost.

Asia/Pacific Regional Championships

IBSA Goalball has now started the search for nations willing to host the Asia/Pacific Regional Championships. Bids should be submitted by 15 February with the successful nation being informed on 28 February at the latest.
