IBSA Goalball is starting the search for hosts for our regional championships for 2015. The list of regional championships that requires a host are as follows:
 

• 2015 IBSA Goalball European Championships Men & Women A
• 2015 IBSA Goalball European Championships Men C
• 2015 IBSA Goalball African Championships
• 2015 IBSA Goalball Asia/Pacific Championships

Please note that a host is not required for the Americas because Toronto has already been appointed to host the 2015 IPC Parapan American Games. This tournament will act as the regional championships and Paralympic qualification tournament for the Americas.
 
IBSA Goalball is beginning the search for these tournaments so early so the successful hosts have adequate time to organize a high level tournament and find sponsors.
 
Interested hosts are not obliged to hold both the men’s and women’s tournament. They can be held separately.
 
Many nations excel when performing on home soil. Therefore this is a great motivation to host one of these championships. The reason for this being that all of these regional championships excluding the 2015 IBSA Goalball European Championships Men C are a qualifying tournament for the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games. The top men and women’s nation from each of these championships will automatically qualify for the games.
 
If you are interested in hosting one of these championships, please contact our secretary, John Potts, immediately. We will then be able to provide you with all the necessary documents and confirmation that you are eligible to organize the particular championship.
 
Interested parties should note that their bid is due with the Secretary General of IBSA no later than 31 January 2014. Successful parties should be notified prior to 15 March 2014.
