IBSA Goalball Africa – Finally underway

It has taken a long time getting to this point but the 2013 IBSA Goalball African Championships have now started.
 
In the end, only six nations are competing in these championships because South Africa was unable to join the other teams in Nairobi.
 
Game one on day one was between the host nation, Kenya, and Rwanda. Rwanda was too strong for the hosts and won 14-4.
 
Next up was the experienced Algerians against Ghana. The experience showed as Algeria won 10-0.
 
It has been a long time since Egypt competed amongst the elite of world goalball but they showed in their first match that they want to be back there. They defeated Morocco 13-3.
 
For those who wanted a goal feast, then the match between Ghana and Kenya was for you. In a match that saw a total of 32 goals scored, Ghana defeated Kenya 21-11.
 
During the final match of the day, Egypt strengthened their case for qualification to the 2014 IBSA Goalball World Championships by comprehensively defeating Rwanda 10-0.
