IBSA Europe meets in Hungary

The new IBSA Europe Committee held its first meeting in Eger, Hungary, last weekend at the 2013 IBSA European Judo Championships.
 
The meeting brought together eight committee members from all parts of the continent under the leadership of chairwoman Sally Wood Lamont from Romania, who was elected to the post at the IBSA general assembly in August.
 
The committee discussed a wide range of topics regarding blind sport in Europe, including how to make best use of the IBSA web site, future European championships in IBSA sports, a proposal to introduce a licensing system for blind and partially sighted athletes in IBSA sports and the UEFA-funded IBSA Blind Football European Development Project.
 
The following IBSA European Committee members attended the meeting:

IBSA Secretary General Henk van Aller also attended the gathering.
 
Following the meeting committee members had the opportunity to witness the closing stages of the team competition at the 2013 IBSA European Judo Championships.
