IBSA is delighted to announce that it has entered into a partnership agreement with UNADEV  (Union Nationale des Aveugles et Deficient Visuels).

At a special ceremony in Bordeaux recently, an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed by Jannie Hammershoi, in her capacity as IBSA President, and René Breton – UNADEV President.

The agreement marks the commencement of a 4-year partnership, the objective of which is to increase participation levels of blind and partially sighted people in sporting activities in developing regions of the world. Both UNADEV and IBSA have invested significant funds for this purpose.

In expressing her gratitude to UNADEV, Jannie Hammershoi emphasised the unique potential for synergy between IBSA and UNADEV, whereby the complementary skills and experience of both organisations can be utilised for the benefit of blind people in developing regions of the world.

René Breton welcomed the collaboration with IBSA, highlighting the international recognition gained by UNADEV in the development of sport for visually impaired persons. He looked forward with great anticipation to implementing specific programmes in the near future.

The Executive Director of IBSA, Neil O’Donovan, said the partnership between IBSA and UNADEV was a perfect fit, involving two organisations with common values and the capacity to establish sustainable structures to support the provision of sports for blind people.
