The IBSA Chess Committee regrets to inform member countries in the Americas region that the 2017 IBSA Chess American Championships, scheduled to be held next month in Caracas, Venezuela, have been cancelled due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances.

The committee is now looking for a country to host the championships next year.
