IBSA Blind Football Women’s World Championships – entries open

Preparations for the first ever IBSA Blind Football Women's World Championships are gathering pace and the organisers have now released the first entry form for countries to register.

The inaugural Women's World Championships will take place in Enugu, Nigeria, from November 18th to 29th, and will be hosted by the Bina Foundation. In addition, it is the first time a worldwide event in blind football is taking place in Africa.

Up to twelve countries from four continents are expected to sign up for the championships, which are open to players with a B1, B2 or B3 classification on this occasion. Games will be played at the Bina Foundation National Blind Football Academy.

The provisional programme for the championships is:

18th November 2020: arrival of delegations, training, sight classification.
19th November 2020: training, technical meetings, sight classification.
20th November 2020: sight classification, opening ceremony, opening match.
21st – 26th November 2020: match days
27th November 2020: placement matches (morning), semi-finals (afternoon).
28th November 2020: placement matches, finals, closing ceremony.
29th November 2020: departures.

First entries are due by Thursday April 30th and should be sent to [email protected] and [email protected].

 

The entry fee for the event has been set at 80 Euros per person per day in twin rooms, or 105 Euros p.p.p.d. in a single room. Entry fees do not include the 25 Euros IBSA capitation fee.

All participating countries must be in good standing with IBSA. Entries must be made on the IBSA Sport Administration System (ISAS).
