As the newly elected Chairman of the IBSA Americas, I am finalizing a working group who will assist me in promoting and advancing sport for people who are blind and visually impaired in the Americas. Once approved by the IBSA board, this advisory committee will consist of dynamic leaders from the following locations:
 

• Central America
• North America
• Caribbean and
• South America

The committee will meet by Skype on a quarterly basis to accomplish the following:
 

• More effectively communicate with each nation, about our events, athlete accomplishments, etc.
• Recruit and train more qualified referees and officials
• Recruit and train more qualified coaches
• Recruit and train more competent medical classifiers

Finally, the Americas committee will work on a plan and submit it to the IBSA board for approval to generate revenue for the Americas in order to accomplish our goals.
