Date: December 7, 2013

Category: Goalball

Each month the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has a shortlist of athletes nominated for athlete of the month. IBSA Goalball is excited to say that a goalball athlete has made the shortlist of nominees for the month of November. Now he is counting on votes to try and win this title.

Marius Zibolis of the Lithuanian men’s goalball team has been nominated for IPC player of the month for the month of November. He was nominated for his outstanding play during the recent 2013 IBSA Goalball European Championships Men & Women A held in Konya, Turkey.

During this tournament Zibolis was thought by many to be one of the highest performing players in the Lithuanian team and was a vital part of their path to the title of European Champions.

Zibolis has been a long standing member of the Lithuanian team and was present when they were crowned World Champions in 2006 and 2010 as well as European Champions in 2007 and 2009. He also has a collection of minor medals that include silver at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games and bronze at the 2000 Sydney Paralympic Games.

If you would like to support Zibolis, please go to www.paralympic.org and vote for him. At the time of writing this article he was in second place and therefore needs your support. You have until December 11 to cast your vote.
