Goalball: Hungary and Spain take the lead in Rotterdam

First day of competition at Rotterdam Ahoy in the 2023 IBSA Goalball European Championship – Division C, tournament taking place in the European Para Championships.
Spain, in group A, and Hungary, in group B, took the lead in the kickoff of the competition. The Spanish team only had one match, against Azerbaijan, and won by 12-2, the maximum difference possible in the sport.
The Hungarian national team played two matches and won them both. First against Sweden (8-7), and then against Italy (12-11). Two victories with tight differences, but enough to shoot the team sky high to the next level.
Bulgaria, Sweden, and Spain were relegated from the Euro B division last November.

Sweden vs Hungary: 7-8
Bulgaria vs Italy: 8-15
Netherlands vs France: 1-9
Azerbaijan vs Spain: 2-12
Bulgaria vs Sweden: 9-11
